When grocery stores use third-party certified green cleaning chemicals, they are actively announcing their commitment to the health and well-being of their employees and customers. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment not only is a morally sound practice, it also can help minimize sick days as traditional chemicals are linked to numerous health risks.

greencleanBenefits from using green cleaning products in your facilities include providing consistency with other environmental efforts such as reducing energy usage and recycling; improving indoor air quality; and lowering the environmental impact of your facility.

Most large scale, industrial cleaning chemical providers do offer third-party certified versions of their products.  Some of the certified cleaning products that the Grocery Stewardship Certification program recognizes include Green Seal, the EPA’s Safer Choice, UL’s ECOLOGO and the EU Ecolabel.
